Weleda uses distilled and deionized water. Distilled water has been boiled and the steam has condensed, yielding pure, uncontaminated water.

Calcium carbonate is used as a mineral in dental care products. With Calcium Carbonate, teeth can be cleaned gently and thoroughly, making it safe for the enamel of teeth.

In cosmetic products glycerin is used as a moisturizing agent due to its water-attracting properties and it makes skin feel smooth. Weleda uses glycerin derived from the coconut or palm kernel oil.

Magnesium Aluminum Silicate is a dermatological compatible mineral bulking agent and stabilizer for emulsions, creams, toothpastes, gels or powder. It is a weathering product of various feldspars, which are considered the most important rock-forming minerals of the earth's crust.

Alcohol is another term for ethanol or ethyl alcohol. In manufacturing plant extracts contained in Weleda's products, mixtures of alcohol and water are used as extraction agents in some formulations. The consistency and stability of natural cosmetic products are improved by alcohol.

Flavor is the collective name for raw materials that are used for the taste (aroma) of oral and dental care products. For such products, Weleda only ever uses a mixture of essential oils - synthetic fragrances are not utilized. (from essential oils)
